Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes Digestive and Kidney Disease (NIDDK) has a requirement to procure a maintenance agreement from Rigaku/MSC for two rotating anode X-ray generators and three imaging plate X-ray diffraction detectors. The specific hardware to be covered is R-AXIS IV, ser. #SD2946N, R-AXIS IV, ser. #VD2616N, R-AXIS IV++, ser. #YD2674N, RUH3R, ser. #SD342703, MM007 HF, ser. #DD307408. The coverage will also include parts and labor. On-site labor and repair are to include up to four preventive maintenance (PM) service visits per year and up to two emergency service visits as necessary. Operating hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday, (excluding holidays). The equipment is located in Bldg. 5/Rm. 303, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD. The institute intends to purchase this equipment by other than full and open competition from Rigaku/MSC. To the best of the Government?s knowledge, Rigaku/MSC is the only vendor authorized to perform the services on this equipment. Interested vendors may identify, in writing, their interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Officer prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received before the closing date of this announcement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It is anticipated that Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-08-189, will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ.
