Description

STATEMENT OF WORKELECTRICAL CORRECTIONS PHASE IIThe VA Medical Center, Beckley, WV has a need to complete Electrical Corrections Phase II project. The project consists of the replacement of existing primary switchgear breakers and unit substation 1 and 2 secondary switchgear breakers in existing hospital buildings in Beckley, West Virginia. This project is comprised of changing breakers that are old and can no longer be serviced with new breakers. It is impractical to completely change out the switchgear due to the extended power interruption this would cause. Existing breakers that are to be replaced with new breakers in the existing switchgear include primary breakers in building 22 and secondary breakers in unit substations 1 and 2 in building one. In addition, this project will install new breakers in existing spaces in substation 1, substation 2 and substation 3. The feeds to DP-X-Ray and DP-CT and the portable MRI are to be reconfigured so that they are able to be served from the essential electrical system. This will include the addition of a new breaker in S-2, transformer, disconnect switch, automatic transfer switch and new distribution panel. Feeds to panels DPR-1 and DPL-1 are to also be reconfigured so that they are able to be served from the essential electrical system. This will include a new breaker in S-3, the existing cell space and bussing are to be modified to accept the new breaker, a new automatic transfer switch and distribution panel.
