- Description
- This project consists of the supply of an approximately 210' long, 6' wide prefabricated trail bridge superstructure to replace a bridge destroyed in the 11/2006 flood. The plan is to replace the destroyed glu-lam girders and the remaining glu-lam girders with weathering steel girders or trusses supported by the remaining (3) piers (110' and 55' main spans) as well as a 22' approach span at each end. It will include timber or steel decking and railing. The new bridge will be approximately 2' higher than the old one so short bents need to be supplied to set on top of existing piers. The bridge supply will include the design, fabrication and delivery of all superstructure materials. More than one proposal may be submitted by each quoter. To reach the project site, from Granite Falls, WA take the Moutain Loop Highway east approx 25.6 miles to the Big Four Picnic Area, then take the Ice Caves Trail approx 0.3 miles to the bridge site, which is across the South Fork Stillaguamish River. The bridge may also be accessed from the Ice Caves Express Trailhead which is near milepost 26.0 and the trail distance is the same. Estimated issued date of the solicitation is or or about April 30, 2008. Delivery shall be made no later than September 15, 2008. The delivery site is the Ice Caves Express Trailhead parking lot. This project is 100% set-aside for HUBzone small business concerns.
