Description
The Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA intends to award a firm-fixed price construction contract for Project #595-07-125, 1-4B Hospice Renovations. The 1-4B Hospice Renovations project will renovate approximately 900 GSF of space on the fourth floor of Building 1, B-Side, to house two new single bed hospice patient rooms, including associated support functions. Construction will include but not be limited to architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, dust containment, noise containment, and any other functions required to complete the work as described in the drawings and specifications. All work will be in strict compliance with all applicable codes and VA regulations.This will be a firm-fixed price contract awarded as the result of the sealed bidding process. IFB will be available on or about 1 May 2008. NAICS code is 236220, with a small business size standard of $31 million. Estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $250,000. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on May 15, 2008 at 10AM in Bldg18 Room 148. At the pre-bid conference, questions regarding this project will be answered and a walk through will be conducted. This solicitation is subject to the availability of funds. Notice of Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns: (a) The proposed contract is 100% set aside for award to service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns. Offers or quotations from other than service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns will not be considered and shall be rejected. (b) Definitions. As used in this provision: "Service-disabled veteran-owned small business concern" (1) Means a small business concern (i) Not less than 51 percent of which is owned by one or more service-disabled veterans or, in the case of any publicly owned business, not less than 51 percent of the stock of which is owned by one or more service-disabled veterans; and (ii) The management and daily business operations of which are controlled by one or more service-disabled veterans or, in the case of a veteran with permanent and severe disability, the spouse or permanent caregiver of such veteran. (2) Service-disabled veteran means a veteran, as defined in 38 U.S.C. 101(2), with a disability that is service-connected, as defined in 38 U.S.C. 101(16).
