- Solicitation #- FA5205-08-I-DAV01 Notice to Vendor: This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI, NOT REQUEST FOR QUOTATION) issued IAW FAR 15.201(e). Government funds are currently not available at this time. Should funds become available, a request for quotation (RFQ) will be issued. However, please note that the above-mentioned RFQ will not be issued if use of GSA FSS is determined to be most advantageous to the Government in terms of best value. Please submit the below requested information via our FAX No: 0176-52-4793 or E-mail: philip.davis@misawa.af.mil. Please respond this RFI by providing the following information, not later than 1600 on 02 May 08 (JST). Misawa Air Base has a requirement for gas stove ranges that must meet very specific requirements. These stoves must pass all of Japan’s inspections and comply with the new law effective 1 October 2008 concerning safety devices. Please do not bid unless you can verify that you are able to meet the below requirements. Japan Gas Appliances Inspection Association (JIA) is the organization where domestic gas appliances are certified in Japan. Manufacturers must follow Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) test methods of gas burning appliances for domestic use Para 7. Fig 6. Column 1. JIS S 2093. It states, “Gas leak test must be made at a pressure of 4.2kpa.” The required stoves must not exceed 30” in width, although they can be slightly smaller, and must be approximately 46 ½”H x 26 ¼”D. Must meet Japanese requirements of 100V/50Hz, must meet Japanese standard of 4.3Kpa pressure and the pressure must be maintained for more than 5 minutes. All the individual burners must have safety device. This device is activated when the pot is lifted from the stove which causes the burner to automatically extinguish. 30” free-standing gas range for liquefied propane gas, self-cleaning oven, upswept porcelain-enameled cook top, electronic pilotless ignition, sealed gas burners w/removable drip pans, easy-set clock & minute timer, 2 oven racks, 6 oven rack positions, interior oven light, audible preheat signal, electronic automatic oven timer, frameless black glass oven door w/window, in oven broiler, storage drawer. Color: White The government of Japan’s (GOJ) manufacturing requirement for gas appliances include passing a gas leak test at a pressure of 4.2kPa. In addition to the gas leak test GOJ has implemented a new law, effective 1 Oct 08 which states that each burner must have a safety device which automatically extinguishes the flame once a pot is removed from the stove. *Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award. And the Contractor is required to confirm on an annual basis that its information in the CCR database is accurate and complete at http://www.ccr.gov/.
