- Notice of Intent - Sole Source The Department of Veterans Affairs, Gainesville, Florida, intends to award a sole source commercial contract to VRmagic, Inc. The requirement is to purchase an EYESI virtual reality ophthalmic surgery simulator platform and associated peripherals developed by VRmagic. This unit is the only machine (found by this agency) which is a highly sophisticated simulator for intraocular surgical training. EYESi offers detailed performance evaluation and all data for a trainee can be exported via USB as user friendly spread sheets or graphs. VRmagic Inc is the sole source manufacturer with no distributors in the USA for the EYESI simulator. VRmagic Inc is the only source that can satisfy the government's requirements. The North America Industry Classification System Code [NAICS] is 333319. All responsible sources may submit a response, which if timely received, will be considered by The Department of Veterans Affairs, Gainesville. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals. Any company that feels they can provide VRmagic EYESI virtual reality ophthalmic surgery simulator must submit their technical data (2 pages or less) to support their claim no later than 3 p.m. 06 May 2008. The information must explain the company's ability to overcome the restriction of patent rights. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this synopsis.
