Description

The Naval Air Systems Command, specifically PMA-226, Cherry Point, NC, has a requirement to procure spare Variable Load Energy Absorbers (VLEAs) for the CH-46E helicopter Lightweight Replacement Armored Seat Program (LRASP). The LRASP engineering and production effort is currently being performed under Contract N00019-05-C-0060 by BAE Systems, Phoenix AZ. The proposed small purchase order will provide delivery of up to 20 each VLEA's, P/N 101401-2, to meet current demands until such time that the Navy Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) awards a spares contract in the November 2008 timeframe. Delivery of these components shall be made no later than 31 May 2008 to meet a scheduled CH-46E squadron deployment to Iraq. As the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the CH-46E LRASP, BAE Systems is the only company to possess the proprietary technical data, tooling, technical expertise and manufacturing capability necessary to supply the LRASP VLEAs in the required timeframe. Note 22 applies.
