- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation forcommercial items prepared in accordance with theformat in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented withadditional information included in this notice. Thisannouncement constitutes the only solicitation;quotations are being requested and a writtensolicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No.RMN00080070 herein is cited as a Request for Quotation(RFQ). The commercial items policies of FAR Part 12will be used. Solicitation document and incorporatedprovision and clauses are those in effect throughFederal Acquisition Circular 2005-24. NAICS: 423320. (Description) Aggregate Base Course, NMSHTD Type 1. 1. Delivered. (Quantity) 11,320 tons, (Unit Price) $ ___, (Total Amount)$.Item Description: The Aggregate Base Course shallconform to the following gradation requirements underthe Standard Specifications for Construction of Roadsand Bridges on Federal Highway Projects, FP-96 Table703-2 below. The aggregates shall meet FP-96,Subsection 703.05(a) and (b). Theaggregates shall be composed of crushed stone, crushedor screened gravel, caliche, sand, or a combination ofsuch materials. Base course aggregate shall be freefrom organic matter and all other deleteriousmaterials, including silt and clay balls. The aggregate materials shall be combined in suchproportions that the resulting composite blend meetsthe requirements of Class Type I in Table 304-A below,unless otherwise shown in the contract. The retainedmaterial shall have at least two fractured faces asevaluated by NMSHTD Method FF-1, Fractured FaceDetermination for Coarse Aggregate.Type 1 and Type II aggregate shall have an AggregateIndex of 35 or less when calculated in accordance withSection 910. The liquid limit shall be 25 or less andthe plastic index shall be six or less. Acceptance shall be in accordance with Section 106 andSubsection 301.08 of the contract SupplementalSpecifications and Standard Specifications, FP-96. Measurement and Payment shall be in accordance withSection 109 of the contract SupplementalSpecifications. Delivery will be from July 2008 toJuly 2009. Item 1 - Deliver FOB destination to BIA,DOT, Site of New Breadsprings School, McKinley County,New Mexico, 11 miles South of Gallup, NM on StateHighway 602, Mile Marker 18.8, turn East.
