Description
The FAA is seeking experienced firms to perform a light energy retrofit at the Chicago ARTCC at Aurora, Illinois. Work consists of but is not limited to the following: 1. Rebuild approximately 1500 (including replacing cracked or discolored diffusers) existing 2, 3 and 4 tube recessed and strip type 2'x4' fluorescent light fixtures containing 4-T12 tubes and magnetic ballast with 2-T8 Spectrally Enhanced (5000K) tubes and "Standard" (60W) electronic ballasts.2. Replace approximately 37 (not including ISF building) standard light switches with infrared sensing occupancy sensor type light switches. Work includes replacing ballasts with "program start" ballasts.3. Relamp approximately 50 Incandescent fixtures throughout the Center with suitably sized and configured "compact" fluorescent lamps.4. Replace approximately 50 existing incandescent and fluorescent exit signs with new LED signs with battery backup.5. Rewire circuits and Install 15 standard wall mounted light switches and 20 IR type Occupancy sensor switches (Work includes replacing ballasts with "program start" ballasts) in the ISF building.6. Repair/install approximately 20 exterior lighting fixtures to make them photo-sensor controlled.7. Install Photo-sensors and dimming electronic ballasts in 6 interior areas of the Center for daylight harvesting.8. Replace 20 old dilapidated "eggcrate" fluorescent T12 fluorescent fixtures in Room B102 with new T8/Electronic wrap fixtures.9. Raise 90 suspended 1'x4' fluorescent strip type suspended fixtures to form 8' to 9'6" height in room B120. Offer range is between $100,000 and $250,000 with a performance time of approximately 60 calendar days. Construction start is anticipated for July/August 2008. Interested firms must be able to show that they have 5 years of comparable experience performing this type of work. The Request For Offer is anticipated to be available by July 2008.This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
