- This is a Sources Sought announcement, a market survey for written information only. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. Description The Display will be used to convey critical information to the operators (mission, status, navigation, etc.) and help them maintain situational awareness of the craft and operating environment around them. The Displays on the future ACV are required to meet the requirements of MIL-STD-1472F and be compatible with Night Vision Imaging Systems, and Electronic Chart Display and Information System - Navy (ECDIS-N) display requirements. Information on non-ECDIS-N compatible displays for use as secondary displays is also requested. The Displays will be required to operate in a harsh marine (salt spray) and in-shore (dust/sand) environment. Requested technical description of the Display System(s) includes: Weight, Space WxHxD, Power Requirements (Peak and Normal Load), Power Type (AC(Freq))/DC), External Data Interface, Modes, Resolution, Cooling Requirements, MIL-STD-901D shock test (Y/N), MIL-STD-810F, Method 516.5, procedure 1 shock test (acceleration and waveform), MIL-STD-167-1A, type 1 vibration test (Y/N), MIL-STD-810F, Method 514.5 vibration test (category and figure used), Operational temperature range, Non-operational (storage) temperature range, Condensing humidity (Y/N), Drip/splash proof (provide test method), Salt fog testing (provide test method), Blowing sand testing (provide test method), Govt Maintenance Support Plan, Training (military schools, vendor schools, etc), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and method used to calculate, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and method used to calculate, Equipment mounting options Equivalent commercial environmental test standards will be considered. NOTE: While the ACV will encounter a wide range of harsh environmental conditions representative of amphibious assaults in diverse regions of the world, there are ACV level and subsystem level approaches possible to reduce the range of environmental conditions encountered by the display system/components. When responding to this market survey, please provide information on all products provided by the respondent over a wide range of environmental specifications. Responses Responses to this RFI should include supporting materials that provides a demonstration of your companys capabilities and experience. For costs, please provide any applicable quantity discounts. The following information is requested (indicate if the information is an estimate or actual). 1.Technical description of the Display System(s) (see above)2.List and definition of system interfaces including data description and protocols3.Installation and integration requirements including operating systems supported and approximate processing characteristics required for host computers4.US Military applications including points of contact5.Unit cost and lead time for Displays delivery6.Cost for hardware maintenance fees (including updates, technical support, etc)7.Cost for software licensing fees and associated terms (development, installation, maintenance, etc)8.Cost for on-site and classroom training of Display components NSWC PCD requests your responses by 10:00 am (CST), on 09 July 2008. Submissions will be accepted after this date, but feedback may not be as timely or contribute to NSWC PCD strategic planning.
