- BLM Request for Quotations, NAQ080024, 31 Prefabricated Metal Buildings to be Delivered to the Owl Canyon Campground in the Rainbow Basin Natural Area. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Barstow Field Office has a requirement for 31 Prefabricated Metal Buildings. REQUIREMENTS - Structural framing: steel tube minimum ASTM A500 grade B or cold-formed box sections minimum ASTM A570 grade 55. I beams, tapered columns, open channels, or wood products shall not be accepted. Compression ring: structural channel or welded plate minimum ASTM A36. Fasteners: ASTM A325 high strength bolts and A563 high strength nuts, ASTM A36 anchor bolts, self-drilling screws, rivets. Metal roofing: 24-gauge galvalume factory finished with Kynar 500 paint system. Ribs shall be 1-3/16 in. high, 12 in. on center. Panels shall be three feet wide, and angles shall be factory cut. Ribs shall run with the pitch of the roof for proper drainage. Color shall be selected from the manufacturer's standard color chart. Metal roofing trim shall match the color of the roof and shall be formed from 26 gauge painted galvalume steel as follows: PANEL END CAPS shall be pre-bent to a "U" shape to fit over ridge end of roof panels. The inside of the "U" shall match the roof color. METAL RIDGE CAPS shall be preformed with a single central bend to match the roof pitch. They shall be hemmed on the sides. ROOF PEAK CAP shall be supplied on all buildings that do not include a cupola. "J" CHANNEL shall be shaped like a "J" with colored metal on the outside wrapped around 20 gauge galvanized steel core. "J" channel shall be applied all along the eave to strengthen and straighten the eave. Both colored metal galvanized core shall have 7/16 in. weep holes 6 in. on center. EAVE SPLICE CHANNELS shall be provided to fit behind "J" channel butt joint to create strength at the joint and maintain a straight eave line. SPECIAL "J" CHANNEL CORNER TRIM shall be provided which fits over the main "J" channel to simplify final detailing of corners. FABRICATION: All columns, trusses, beams, compression rings and tension members shall be factory welded assemblies with provisions for bolted connections. There will be no field welding required. Factory welded connections shall be made by certified welders. Foundation will be constructed to local codes, and good construction practices for the specific site conditions. Delivery shall be made to the Owl Canyon Campground in the Rainbow Basin Natural Area, 8 miles north of Barstow, California. Footing details shall be designed by an engineer based on load information as provided by the manufacturer. This is a 100% set-aside for small business. The standard NAICS classification is 332311.
