Description
Project No. 603-317, "Renovate SICU 4 South" at the VAMC, Louisville, Kentucky, will provide all services for design to remodel approximately 4,463 GSF for Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and supportive functions on the 4th Floor South, at the VA Medical Center, Louisville, Kentucky. Design includes the preparation of complete drawings in AutoCAD 2005 format or newer, specifications, and construction cost estimates per VA guidelines. Project involves major renovation of most areas and minor finish improvements in others. Design is to include preparation of detailed phasing plan/sequence of operation for minimum disruption of hospital operations. A/E will be required to develop Bid Alternates for up to 20% of construction budget. The A/E team must include a certified industrial hygienist for planning of asbestos abatement throughout the project.Work includes architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and industrial hygiene. Area of consideration is restricted to firms located within a 100-mile radius of VAMC Louisville, KY and is unrestricted in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, NAICS Code 541310, with a small business size standard of $4.5 million is applicable. A/E selection based on recent specialized hospital experience, professional capacity to accomplish work, professional qualifications of staff and consultants assigned to the project, proposed management plan, cost control, estimating effectiveness, schedule control and location of A/E firm and consultants. This notice issued subject to availability of funds and is not a request for proposal. The estimated construction cost range is $2,000,000 to $2,500,000 with 20% of the total construction budget as viable deductive construction alternates. Completion time is 180 calendar days after notice to proceed is signed. Interested firms should submit two copies each of current SF-330 to Sandra Magers, Contracting Officer (90C), VISN 9 Acquisition Center, Bldg. 5, Room 149, 3400 Lebanon Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37129 not later than 4:00 pm CST on July 25, 2008 in accordance with numbered note 24.
