Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA 05Z21) is hereby issuing a Request for Information (RFI) from all potential sources who may be interested in the development and assembly of prime mover borescope inspection equipment kits for use on Naval vessels. The video borescope inspection kit to be purchased will reside at Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs) located in San Diego CA, Everett WA, Norfolk VA, Mayport FL, Yokuska Japan and Pearl Harbor HI. The RMCs will store the equipment until needed to inspect ship propulsion systems that are pier side or at sea. These kits are in support of Diesel, Gas Turbine, and Boiler inspections. The RMC video borescope inspection kit shall include an industrialized container. The kit shall also include a light source, flexible probes/tips, color LCD monitor, expandable memory, and software to manage inspection data, measure deficiencies for comparison with technical manual criteria, maintain the help menu, and generate inspection reports. The unit shall also include the capability to connect to a remote computer to enable inspection reports to be sent via e-mail and in real-time. The overall weight of the kit should not exceed 35 lbs. This measurement equipment shall have a NIST traceable verification standard. The kit shall have a closed circuit camera with a minimum of 0.5 Mega pixels. Responses to this RFI should be limited to 10 pages or less (including any attachments) and include supporting materials that allow an effective evaluation of your companys competence, experience, and overall understanding of the requirements that NAVSEA has identified. The Combustion Engines Group of NAVSEA (Mr. John Hartranft) requests your responses by 10:00 am (EST), on 7 August 2008. Submissions will be accepted after this date, but feedback may not be as timely or contribute to NAVSEAs strategic planning. Information should be e-mailed to Mr. Adam Kelinsky at Adam.Kelinsky@navy.mil or mailed to Naval Sea Systems Command, Attn: Mr. Adam Kelinsky, NAVSEA 05Z21, 1333 Isaac Hull Avenue SE, Washington Navy Yard, D.C. 20376 and labeled with the solicitation number and Borescope Market Questionnaire.
