- Request for Information: No offer is being accepted at this time this is only for INFORMATION data. Helmet mounted displays for aviation Product Manager Air Warrior (PM AW) and the United States Army Aeromedical Research Lab (USAARL) is requesting information and availability of commercial off the shelf (COTS) and government off the shelf (GOTS) helmet mounted displays in order to assess the state of current helmet mounted display (HMD) technology. Vendors are asked to supply the following for their proposed HMD: "A self assessment of the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of the current system. "System specification and a self assessment (measured performance) of HMD performance. "Any qualification testing that may have already been completed. If the system is still under development, please supply; "Current schedule. "Current TRL and projected TRL at planned completion. "Any available performance data. In addition to the vendors self assessment, PM AW has also requested USAARL to conduct an independent assessment of vendor-loaned HMD. As a minimum, USAARL will measure the following performance parameters of your system: "Field-of-view "Visual field "Luminance range "Contrast ratio "Resolution/MTF "Distortion "Luminance uniformity "Physical eye relief "Exit pupil size and shape It is recognized that unique display technologies may require unique test procedures or set-ups in order to properly evaluate your system.
