- Description
- This announcement is the second amendment to this combined synopsis/solicitation, 601818Q634. The purpose of this amendment is to correct an email address, correct line item 8's description, publish question and answers that have been received, and extend the closing date of the solicitation. The following sections in the previous announcment are replaced with the listed below: (v) Replace L/I 8 with the below: 8Channel Iron 4" X 5.4 # - Length 12' minimum 1100ft (xi) Offers are due no later than 04 August 2008 at 16:00 pm MST. (xii) For other information please contact: Mr. Eric Jordan, Contract Specialist: Phone: 303-236-4329 Fax: 303-236-4791Email: eric_w_jordan@fws.gov The following are answers to the questions received: 1. Mill seconds. Is this correct? Yes this is correct. 2. Line Items 5,6,&7. Mill products are produced in 20 foot sections (r/l)not 12 feet. Will you accept? The minimums are the length we will cut the stock to so that we can use it. Twice the minimum length would be optimal to minimize waste. 3. Line Item 8 calls for 12" minimum length. Is this correct? No, it should read 12 feet. 4. Is material galvanized or coated vinyl? This is just structural steel. None of it needs to be galvanized or vinyl coated. 5. Is the pipe to be domestic or import? Domestic is preferred just because of our unknown of the quality of imported steel. See the next Q&A for more info. 6. The requirement is for 2nd mill steel. Can 1st run import steel be substituted? If it meets the minimum requirements of 2nd mill domestic steel. However, any product has to be in accordance with the Buy American Act. 7. Is the pipe ERW, continuos weld? We can not answer this question. The pipe just needs to meet all of the criteria we have specified. 8. Standard pipe is 21' lengths, will your staff have a way to cut the pipe to length? Yes we do. We need 12' lengths so our intention was to buy 24' lengths and be able to cut them in half and use both pieces and have minimal waste and maximize our dollar. See questions #2 also. 9. Is the pipe plain end or threaded and coupled? Plain pipe is fine. Threaded is not needed. 10. Can oilfield pipe be used instead of schedule 40 pipe? No due to it cannot be used for the fence area and the breakout of the different areas are not specified in the requirement. 11. Can pipe be substituted for 4" tube? No. For this item, the square tubing is needed.
