- Request for Information (RFI) FIXEDZONE FIBER OPTIC PERIMETER INTRUSION DETECTION SENSORS DUE: 31 JULY, 2008. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN), Charleston, Code 56410 (Advanced Technology Branch), is seeking information on Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) fence mounted, cable based, fixed zone fiber optic perimeter intrusion detection sensors that can be used by emergency responders to protect restricted areas from unauthorized access. Detection sensors included in this response must be the manufacturers standard models (commercial-off-the-shelf), and have the capability to be mounted along a fence line within the fabric of the fence for perimeter protection purposes. This RFI requests information about fixed zone fiber optic sensors; optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) type fiber optic sensors are not included in this RFI. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Authorized Equipment List (AEL) reference number for alarm system sensors is 14SW-01- ALRM. The target audience for this information is the emergency response community and all submittals should be suited to their specific needs. Review of this information is being performed for DHS, Federal Emergency Management Agency. DHS established the System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program to conduct comparative assessments and validation activities that provide the emergency responder community with information on important products and services. Visit the SAVER Program Web site at https://saver.fema.gov for more information on the SAVER Program. All information received will be treated as public knowledge and may be used in SAVER Program documentation; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Specific information sought is detailed in the product summary questionnaire. Additional specific information sought includes: 1. Company information, including name, address, URL, revenue, and number of employees. 2. Whether the company is a manufacturer or distributor. 3. A point of contact for follow-up information, and the point of contacts phone number and e-mail address. 4. Product name and a brief description. 5. Cost information such as purchase price and General Services Administration (GSA) schedule information. The submitted information will be evaluated for inclusion in SAVER projects and reports. Determination as to an individual products suitability will be made by SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston based on the objectives of this request. Vendors may be contacted following submission for more detailed product information. Vendor provided information may be reformatted for publication in SAVER Program documents. Respondents are required to complete the attached product summary questionnaire (PIDS_RFI_pub.pdf) for each product and submit the questionnaires using the submit button.
