Description
The U.S. Geological Survey Western Coastal and Marine Geology Team has a requirement to purchase one (1) each power supply "Brand Name or Equivalent", Applied Acoustics Engineering, Ltd., Model CSP-D700 HV. Operation of the power supply onboard the USGS Research Vessel Parke Snavely, is the primary operations boat for the Western Coastal and Marine Geology Team. For proper data acquisition, the power supply must meet the following salient characteristics: (1) Ability to deliver up to 250 Joules at 5 Hz and up to 500 Joules at 2 Hz; (2) Output 400 volts DC; (3) Operate plugged into a standard 110-120 volt AC outlet; (4) Provide variable input power circuitry to prevent overloading of the 12kV generator onboard the research vessel; (5) Must have a boomer mode - ability for system to decrease output voltage to 2500 with longer pulse widths; (6) Must be designed for ship-board operation and have comparable safety features; and (7) Unit needs to be housed in a rugged, rack-mount case. The dimensions of the encased unit shall be no larger than 28"w x 18"h x 25"d. The following FAR provisions and clauses are associated with this requirement: 52.212-01 Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items; 52.212-03 Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items (include a completed copy with quote); 52.212-04 Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items; 52.212-05 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items; 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal. In accordance with provision 52.211-06, offerors shall also be responsible for submitting all additional information on the above product necessary for the Government to determine whether the product offered meets the salient characteristics in the Request for Quotation (RFQ). Firms that can furnish the required product based on RFQ 08WRQQ0134, are invited to submit in writing their product literature and capabilities statement to the Purchasing Agent (pcharles@usgs.gov) not later than 8/8/08. The RFQ will be made available through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE) at a later date. Award is valued under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $100,000. Award will be based on the quote that offers the best value to the Government, based upon technical acceptance, price, availability, and delivery. Ship F.o.b. destination to Santa Cruz, CA 95060, to be delivered by 9/2/08. The Government reserves the right to award other than the lowest offered price. All firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database at www.ccr.gov to be considered for award. The solicitation will be unrestricted under NAICS code 334511, size standard 750.
