Description
NASA/KSC has a requirement for a Super Thermometer Digital Readout, Deep WellCompact with ranges from 40C to 300C and -80C to 110C, Fluid Silicone Oil, and 25 OhmSPRT probe. NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Fluke Corp. / Hart Scientific division pursuant to FAR 13.106 (b), for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to bereasonably available from only one source and pursuant to 10 U.S.C 2304 (c)(1), only oneresponsible source and no other supply or service will satisfy agency requirements. 1-This equipment is compatible with equipment already being used in the TransducerLaboratory and conforms to the following requirements: The bath shall have maximum accessopening of 120X172 mm (4.7 X 6.8 in), and the depth of 457 mm (18 in) withoutLiquid-in-Glass Thermometer Cal Kit and the 482 mm (19 in) with Liquid-in-GlassThermometer Cal Kit. In addition, the heating and cooling time shall not exceed 130minutes, from 40 C to 300 C (oil 5017) and 14 hours, from 300 C to 100 C (oil 5017)respectively. 2-Substantial time and testing has been invested in the current test set up and the unitsunder the test have been configured for the utilization of above mentioned items. Deviation from the current configuration will impact the training, setup, cost andschedule. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon 08/21/08. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
