Description
The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate, Rome NY intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source purchase order under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 with Microwave Information (MI) Technologies, 1125 Satellite Blvd., Suite 100, Suwanee, GA 300024 for repair of 120/120.1 Oscillator Assembly, quantity 1; Channel Demodulator Assemblies, quantity 2; and 45 MHz IF Reference Assembly, quantity 1. Though this notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, information received within twelve (12) days after date of publication of the solicitation will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code is 334515. SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION: AFRL/RIGE requires the repair of the equipment listed above. MI Technologies is the only source that can provide the repair labor for the Oscillator Assembly, Channel Demodulator Assemblies, and 45 MHz IF Reference Assembly due to the fact that MI Technologies is the only source that has the knowledge and required reference documentation for the defective units. MI Technologies' proprietary interfaces do not allow direct one for one replacement of components; therefore, without the repair of this defective equipment, the Air Force would have to develop new hardware and software to integrate a second source component.
