- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for VME64x POWERED CHASSIS. The chassis is a 9U VMEpowered enclosureThe features/specifications are as follows:Overall Dimensions: 9U H x 19" W x 20" DCard Cage: 2" recessed, 21-slot wide, 60Ux160mm, IEEE1101.10 compatible card cage, withinject/eject extrusions.Backplane: 12-slot, monolithic J1JoJ2 VME64x backplane, w/ 5mm-tail, 160pin DINconnectors on J1, 17mm-tail, 160pin DIN connectors, w/shrouds on J2 & 2mm, hard-metricconnectors, w/shrouds on J0; on-board termination & electronic daisy-chain of all BG/IACKsignals (EBG); 12-slot VME64x power busbar and backplane stiffener installed.Cooling: Three each, high-powered 12VDC fans, mounted in a 2U plenum directly below cardcage resulting in a bottom-to-top air path.Power: 400w power supply installed, w/ 85-264VAC, 47-440Hz input and 35A of +5V, 35V of+3.3V, 10A of +12V and 4A of -12V, auto-ranging (total power not to exceed 400W).Rear I/O: 12-slot IEEE1101.11 rear direct plug-in transition module card cage.Peripheral Mounting: Mounting provisions for four each 5.25" peripheral devices (power"y" cable included)Additional Chassis features include: Front panel main power switch/circuit breaker andbackplane reset switches, LED power indicators and output voltage LEDs, fully assembled,wired and Tested.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from DAWN VME PRODUCTS. It is our understandingthat DAWN VME PRODUCTS is the only vendor who meet all of our requirements. TheAuthority is FAR 13.106(b)(1), Only One Source reasonably available.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set for in FAR Part 13.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to YOLANDA WILLIAMS, via email at Yolanda.A.Williams@nasa.gov or fax to301-286-1720, (email preferred), not later than 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (ET) onSeptember 18, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as acommitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemedfully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement(s).Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
