- Description
- NAICS Code: 3231 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Office of Air and Radiation (OAR) intends to award a sole source fixed-price Purchase Order using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures to the National Safety Council (NSC) toupdate and produce 1,000 copies of "Understanding our World Resources," radiation kits. In 2000, the National Safety Council worked with EPA to develop these kits therefore they uniquely are qualified to update these materials. This year, EPA and (NSC) staff will work together to make some minor updates and edits to some of the materials: primarily the "Understanding Radiation in Our World, guidebook". The information materials in the kit provide an objective overview of radiation science and basic facts; exposure and health risks and benefits to society. Radiation, what it is, its history, uses, sources, health risks and benefits, how it's managed, and relevant role it plays in our daily lives is presented in a factual, objective way in these materials. A flyer announcing EPA's RadTown, USA Web site; an educational tool for students to learn about: radiation sources they may encounter in and around their community, and which state organizations protect them, and actions they can take to protect themselves has also been added to the kit. REQUEST FOR QUOTE OR (RFQ) IS NOT AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm who believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which if received within 10 calendar days of the date of this announcement will be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to compete the proposed Purchase Order based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions should be directed to Trina Fisher via email at fisher.trina@epa.gov.
