Description

The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate, Rome NY intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source purchase order under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 with Microwave Instrumentation (MI) Technologies, 1125 Satellite Blvd Suite 100, Suwanee GA 30024 for the purchase of one (1) 1795 IF Processor Unit. This item is a replacement part and will be required to operate within a large scale system manufactured by MI Technologies. The contractor is the only known source for a direct replacement that is both physically and electrically compatible with the current measurement system. Additional software interfaces between the existing MI Technologies receiver and AFRL measurement equipment have been developed and are in use. Using any other replacement equipment would cause unnecessary cost and delay which could not be recovered by the Government. Though this notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, information received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code is 334515.
