- Notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order to Teel Technologies, 16 Knight Street, Norwalk, CT 06851. The award will be made for the purchase of six (6) TeelTech iGo Kits part number TTiGO60. This procurement is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, for Other than Full and Open Competition and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. All inquiries and concerns shall be addressed in writing to USPFO for Tennessee Contracting Division Attention: Randal Halbrooks, PO Box 41502 Nashville, or sent by email to randal.halbrooks@ng.army.mil. Telephone requests or inquiries will not be accepted. Responses to this notice shall be received no later than 3:30 PM Central Daylight Savings Time, Friday, September 12, 2008. A determination not to compete this requirement is within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. The following justification and is provided for other than full and open competition for this purchase. The TeelTech iGo Kit manufactured by the Teel Incorporated is the only known product of its kind that can offer the following salient characteristics: 1. This charging kit shall come with a set of interchangeable charging tips enabling it to charge the majority of cellular devices on the market today. 2. In order to avoid a substantial duplication in cost the Government would prefer the TeelTech iGo Kits currently produced by Teel Technologies. The Tennessee Army National Guard (TNARNG) will work in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Agency who already uses the TeelTech iGo Kits. Purchasing the TeelTech iGo Kits would allow the agents to exchange parts in the field expeditiously in the event peripheral accessories in their kits failed. 3. This kit shall include a 100 to 240 volt alternating current wall charging kit as well as a portable charger that can charge phones in the absence of an external power source.
