- The United States coast Guard MLC Atlantic intends to issue a sole source purchase order with Fairbanks Morse Engines for ALCO 251B Engine Parts for the Coast Guard Cutter Dauntless. Parts needed are: CLIN 0001: Alco 251B Connecting Rods, Part Number 2170017-1, Quantity: 16 Each; CLIN 0002: Core Charge, Quantity: 16 Each; CLIN 0003: Overnight Shipping, Quantity 16 Each (all shipment will be made directly to CGC Dauntless, Attention: CGC Dauntless, attention: LT Mike Riddler, c/o CGC Resolute, 600 8th Avenue SE, St. Petersburg, Florida 33701). Fairbanks Morse Engine is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and sole source supplier of the part numbers listed above. Award will be made in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 (b)(1)(ii) - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Fairbanks Morse Engines is the only company that has the technical proprietary data necessary to manufacture the required parts. The requirement will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all information received by 10:00 am EST 10/10/08. Please submit past performance information with the response. Consideration for award will be based on Past Performance, Price and Delivery Schedule. With Past Performance and ability to meet delivery Schedule more significantly important than price. A determination by the Government not to compete as a result of quotes received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
