- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), National Acquisition Center, is conducting market research to determine if there are adequate small business concerns capable of providing a broad range of medical and surgical products to Medical Centers by geographical regions. See below for a list of the medical centers within each region. This is not a request for interested parties to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. This announcement is for informational purposes only and must not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP), or an announcement of a solicitation. The objective for this effort is to identify interested small business concerns that can provide directly to Medical Centers the breadth and depth of medical and surgical products from the many Federal Supply Schedule product suppliers. Interested parties must possess the experience, capabilities, distribution facilities, transportation systems, resources and required web-based ordering systems to service the Medical Centers both in bulk and low unit of measure deliveries. Interested parties shall provide all of the following information: (1) Business name, business address, business telephone number, and business size; (2) A list of all current and past contracts with similar requirements along with names, addresses and telephone numbers of customer points of contact; (3) Description of handling, storage and distribution procedures for low unit of measure deliveries; (4) Total number of company employees, and; (5) Address, telephone number(s) and size of distribution centers that will service the Medical Centers cited. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 423450 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This procurement action will be issued on an unrestricted full and open competitive basis if it is determined that no capable small businesses exist that can provide the services and products required to service the Medical Centers listed in this announcement. The upcoming solicitation will be posted in FEDBIZOPPS with an anticipated effective date of April 20, 2010.
