- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is issuing this sources sought/request for information to identify potential vendors and to acquire an enhanced knowledge and understanding of industry capabilities regarding Password Management Software. The envisioned Password Management Software will need to: be able to reset CA TopSecret Version 8.0 passwords; automatically create a tracking ticket in Remedy Tracking System Version 7.0 (Helpdesk System); operate on a server running Windows Server 2003 operating system; have the ability to display an Unlock Password button (or something similar) on the Windows logon screen; be able to reset Oracle passwords, MS SQL passwords; be able to unlock an Active Directory password, unlock a CA TopSecret Version 8.0 password, unlock an Oracle password, unlock an MS SQL password; accept personal computers (PCs) running on Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, and must at a minimum be able to reset Active Directory passwords; accessible without the user having to logon to the Windows Network; have users identify themselves and verify their identity before resetting and communicating the users new password; software must be in compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1998; and must be capable of passing a risk assessment and Certification and Accreditation. The software must be secure by assuring its ability to capture pertinent user information by logging and reporting all activities related to a password reset, change and unlock. Capturing when a reset, change or unlock is requested by a user and logs all successful or failed authentication activities as well as any successful or failed password reset, change or unlock activities. Additionally, the software must have the ability to provide automated alerts to responsible personnel for specific events, such as a consistent failure or perceived attempts at hacking. Responses should contain descriptive literature, such as specification sheets, pamphlets, etc., business type and size, and whether the vendors software is offered on GSA Schedule. This not a request for proposal or quotation. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure any item, nor does the Bureau of Engraving and Printing intend to award on the basis of this sources sought/market research or otherwise pay for the information requested or submitted. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect cost or charges to the Government will arise as a result of submission of a response.
