Description
The Joint Munitions & Lethality Contracting Center and The Project Manager forManeuver Ammunition System intends to solicit, negotiate and award a Firm-Fixed Price, Sole Source contract with CLogic, LLC for inert and tacticalAR5.2 armor tiles for the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles that are apriority to fielding the Warfighter in Afghanistan and Iraq. The AR5.2 tilewas designed to enhance vehicle protection and soldier survivability. The contractor shall produce eleven (11) inert AR5.2 Armor tile using solidmetal plates in place of the active materials and mass balanced to adequatelysimulate the AR5.2 Tactical Version. The contractor shall assemble the eleveninert samples into full mass insulators. Each unit is made from 5083 orequivalent aluminum with internal cassettes made from RHA, Hot Rolled Steel or17-4PH Stainless Steel. Support structures are made from aluminum sheet metalparts formed and integrated to allow the armor tile to integrate together.Finishes will be per the CARC paint system, color: Desert Tan, with theinternal features only taken through the Primer layer. Part marking shall beink stamp or stencil on the back of the boxes, in a contrasting color such asblack. The contractor shall produce sixteen (16) full up tactical units that willbe capable of being loaded and assembled into a fully functional live unit.Each unit is made from 5083 or equivalent aluminum with internal cassettesmade from RHA, Hot Rolled Steel or 17-4PH Stainless Steel. Support structuresare made from aluminum sheet metal parts formed and integrated to allow thearmor tile to integrate together. Finishes will be per the CARC paint system,color: Desert Tan, with the internal features only taken through the Primerlayer. Part marking shall be ink stamp or stencil on the back of the boxes,in a contrasting color such as black. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interests by providingspecifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and othertechnical data as well as identification of current customers.
