- Justification for Other than Full and Open CompetitionDepartment of Veterans Affairs Medical Center This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7, VA Medical Center Charleston SC intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, with Cytyc Limited to provide a Cytyc Thinprep 2000 Reagents and Supplies which consisting of the following: Thinprep Cervical Cytology Pap Test Kit, Cytolite Collection Cups, Thinprep Non-Gyn Filters, Cytolyt (32 oz) 4 pack, Preservcyt (50 Vial Pack) and Thinprep Microscope slide (100 PK) for the VA Medical Center Charleston SC. The NAICS code is 334516. This notice of intent is not a REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested parties may identify their experience in providing this equipment to the Contracting Officer via fax 478-274-5866. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responses must be received not later than 2:00PM CT on 11/21/2008. E-mail: James.Rose3@va.gov or fax 478-274-5866. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is VA-247-RQ-09-0042. This solicitation and incorporated clauses/provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-26, Effective 12 JUN 2008.
