Description
Location: Wards 1D, 3R, 4B, and 4K, Building 70, VAMC Minneapolis Provide all labor, materials, tools and equipment, and construction services necessary to complete a project as described below and shown in the attached drawings. Description: The project renovates existing portions of Building 70 to provide additional space for Polytrauma functions. Work requires modifications to the architectural layout, electrical, and mechanical, and data utility services that consist of: "Demolition will consist of, but is not limited to: Removal of wallpaper, walls, flooring, doors and hardware, suspended ceiling, electrical conduit and wiring, electrical outlets, old data jacks, lights, sinks, countertops, bathroom (sink, toilet, shower, tile floor/walls), plumbing pipe, HVAC duct & diffusers, patient headwalls, nurse call stations, handrails, flooring wall base, fire sprinklers, and one pneumatic tube station. Demolition includes skim coating walls where wallpaper has been removed and patching and repairing all walls in preparation for new finishes. See attached drawings. "New construction will consist of, but is not limited to: Installation of new wallpaper, paint, carpet, flooring wall base, electrical conduit & wiring, electrical outlets, data/voice/signal jacks, lighting, walls, doors & hardware, suspended ceiling, kitchen range with exhaust, dishwasher, new HVAC duct/diffusers, kitchen cabinets with counters, appliances, sinks, plumbing, smoke detectors, fire alarm pull boxes, fire sprinklers, rewiring existing nurse call system, and new panic security alarm points. See attached drawings. "Areas of Building 70 that will be covered by this project are: oRoom 1D-117 - Install additional cabinetry to accommodate the installation of an electric range with exhaust hood, electric dishwasher, and relocate the existing ice/water dispenser. A Contractor-provided and Contractor-installed key switch will be installed near the range to secure electric power to that range. The range and dishwasher will be VA-provided and Contractor-installed. oRoom 3R-128A - Demolish existing walls and construct new walls with built-in work surface that will expand the space to accommodate four employees. Work will remove the existing sliding glass window and install an open window. Work must be phased to permit continued operation of the check-in function. oRoom 4B-100 - Construct two offices with one sink in each room. Provide a one-way window between the two rooms. The rooms will duplicate the configuration of room 4B-101 and 4B-102. The construction site must protect surrounding operations that will continue throughout the project and provide maximum waiting rooms space. oRoom 4B-104 - Remove existing service window and install a larger service window to meet UFAS requirements. oWard 4K - Renovations in the ward will include demolition and construction to modify wall locations that will provide additional office space and create therapy rooms. Many of the spaces will be occupied during construction and work must be phased to provide swing space by administrative functions displaced by the construction. Work is shown on the attached drawings and consists of but is not limited to the following: "Rooms 4K-126, 4K-127, 4K-127a, and 4K-129c - Work will remove existing restroom and demolish and construct walls to create five private offices. Electrical, mechanical, and data utilities will be provided to support these administrative offices. "Room 4K-123 - Work will construct a partition and provide electrical, mechanical, and data utilities to create two administrative offices. "Room 4K-120 and 4K-122 - Work will remove an existing restroom/shower and extend the existing partition to create a conference room in 4K-120 with electrical, mechanical, data utilities and audiovisual equipment. A/V equipment will be a VA-provided and VA-installed SMARTBOARD and overhead projector. The construction will provide necessary power, data and MATV feed for those systems. Room 4K-122 will provide electrical, mechanical and data utilities for an administrative office. "Room 4K-111 and 4K-117 - Work will remove an existing restroom/shower and extend the existing partition to create a quiet treatment room in room 4K-111 and a Family Education Lab in 4K-117. Room 4K-111 will install a hand sink and provide adequate power for an electric hi-lo table, electric treatment table, and one desk. Room 4K-117 will provide electrical, data and A/V to support VA-provided and VA-installed SMARTBOARD and overhead projector similar to the conference room in 4K-120. "Room 4K-106 and 4K-110 will remove a shared restroom and extend the existing wall partition to create two quiet treatment rooms. Room 4K-106 will provide power for a VA-provided and VA-installed hi-lo table, install folding partition walls to isolate two VA-provided and VA-installed recliners, and data and power for one desk. Room 4K-110 will provide power to support a VA-provided and VA-installed ERIGO machine and hi-lo treatment table, and power and data for one desk. All quiet treatment rooms will be provided with hand sinks. "Rooms 4K-101, 4K-103, 4K-104, and 4K-105 - Work will modify walls, electrical, mechanical, and data utilities to provide two therapy rooms as shown on the attachment. One therapy room will be provided with a hand sink. "Rooms 4L-139 and 4K-101 - New construction will utilize 4L-139 and a portion of 4K-101 to create an Assistive Technology lab. New construction requires modifying the floor elevation to maintain a consistent surface and install electrical, mechanical and data utilities to support a training environment. "Room 4K-102 - New construction will install wall partitions to create therapy rooms and one administrative office. Therapy rooms will provide hand sinks, electrical, mechanical, and data utilities to support the VA-provided, VA-installed equipment shown on the attachment. "Rooms 4K-109, 4K-114, 4K-115, and 4K-119 will convert existing spaces into administrative offices. "Room 4K-116 - Work will modify an existing oxygen storage rooms into general storage. "Room 4K-118 - Work will convert an existing storage room into a small room for a computer workstation. "Corridors - Construction will provide new wall covering and replace VCTR flooring with vinyl sheet flooring. "Room 4K-137 - Work will realign an exam office into a check-in counter and back office and provide clerks with VA-provided and VA-installed reception desk. Schedule Objectives - The anticipated completion of this project is 150 calendar days after "Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Design." 120 days of this duration will be actual construction.
