- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Bay Pines VA Health Care System, is seeking firms with experience in refurbishment of wooden piers. All businesses with this specific experience are encouraged to respond. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990 with a small business size standard of $33.5 million. The scope for project 516-09-811 Rebuild Fishing Pier is to provide all permitting, labor, materials, equipment and supervision to repair the fishing pier on-site. The pier is approximately 260 feet long and has 24 feet wide by 12 feet length platform on the end. Existing concrete pilings will remain. The work will include the following items but is not limited to: A.Demolition - remove all handrails, decking, stringers, horizontal supports and roof from pier. B.Architectural - work will include installation of new wood stringers and framing that meet current code for pier applications. New composite handrails and deck will then be installed. Also a roof will be constructed on one side of the platform at the end of the pier. C.Electrical - support all electrical utilities in the demolition phase of the project and reattach to new structure. D.Plumbing - support all water lines in the demolition phase of the project and reattach to new structure. All work that is required for this project shall comply with all established VA, NFPA, NEC and handicapped accessibility requirements. Contractor will try to utilize green building materials where applicable. The offeror is to provide all design services, labor materials, tools, equipment and supervision to accomplish this project. The design and construction of this project shall not exceed 240 days from Notice to Proceed. The VA is negotiating for a "Turn-Key" procurement, which will include all work. The VA will not accept any offers that disclaim parts of the required work to make the unit complete and ready for use. At this time, no solicitation exists. Therefore, DO NOT REQUEST A SOLICITATION.
