- This is not a Notice of Solicitation. The Walla Walla District Corps of Engineers is issuing this notice to determine if there are an adequate number of small businesses that are capable of installing a Government furnished 500 KW 500-XS6DT2 Mtu S Series Diesel engine driven generator set at Dworshak Dam in Ahsahka, Idaho. DESCRIPTION The work for this contract includes the installation, and field testing of a Government Furnished 500KW 500-XS6DT2 Mtu S Series Diesel engine driven generator set. The generator set shall replace the existing generator set and maintain the same functionality. The generator set functions as the pumping station's backup power source. Work will begin with the removal of the existing generator set, coolant system plumbing, and fuel lines to the existing day tank. The electrical control and power conductors will be removed between the generator and the adjacent switchgear. The new self-contained generator set is located on an existing concrete slab next to the wall of the pumping station. New annunciation, control, and power conductors shall be installed between the generator and the switchgear in the adjacent building. The power conductors shall be composed of twelve 300 KCMIL copper conductors and three 2 AWG conductors. Annunciation and control conductors shall be as necessary to re-establish prior functionality. A government furnished wall mounted battery charger shall be interfaced to the generator set battery. The new conductors will be routed through three 3-inch RMC and two 1-inch RMC conduits from the switchgear to the generator. The conduit route is approximately 40 feet in length. The items provided by the Contractor shall include, and are not limited to, all lugs, terminals, wire and cables, conduits, fittings, labor, and other items necessary to complete the installation of the generator set. The contractor shall perform commissioning and operational tests upon completion of the installation, and provide training for government personnel. Overhead hoist in the main pumping station is available for contractor use. Businesses responding to this sources sought announcement may register via email to Nona.R.Fincher@usace.army.mil.
