- Description
- The U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, has a requirement for Army Combat Gloves. The solicitation will be a Full and Open competition. The Government anticipates making to make a single award on a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract as a result of the Request for Proposals (RFP). The anticipated total minimum requirement is 50,000 pairs of gloves with a maximum total requirement of 400,000 pairs of gloves. The anticipated Delivery schedule will be delivery of 8,000 pair per month minimum in thirty (30) days with the ability to ramp up to 60,000 pair per month in one hundred twenty (120) days is required. There will be a separate CLIN for the Government purchase for the ownership of the pattern of the selected glove. The Government anticipates one three year ordering period. The Combat Glove will be in matched pairs, in-seamed, and made from a combination of leather and inherently flame resistant textile materials intended to be worn by U.S. Army personnel. Combat Gloves will provide maximum dexterity, tactility, flexibility, and flame cut protection. The basic shell material shall be knitted material in Sage Green consisting of a yarn blend of Para-Aramid and conductive, anti-stat fiber (P-140) or equal. The leather shall be hair sheepskin or goat and kidskins in Sage Green. Performance Testing will be required for specified materials. Manufacturers will submit one hundred (100) PDS samples in a range of sizes for testing purposes and field user evaluation (FUE) as part of the proposal. All PDS samples must be made in the U.S. and be Berry compliant. All gloves must meet AATCC, ASTM, and NFPA standards. Combat gloves must meet a minimum service life of 120 days when tested with industry standards. The Request for Proposal will be available at, ww3.natick.army mil (Business Opportunities/Upcoming Acquisitions/W911QY-09-R-0014) in or mid to late January 2009. This notice expires January 9, 2009.
