- Questions to Sources Sought - DoD Civilian Uniform Items - FY0901 1. Question: Does one supplier have to supply all of the items listed on the above mentioned solicitation? Answer: We are looking for a single point of contact (company) to supply all items but partnering/teaming of two or more companies is acceptable. 2. Question: Since it is over $100,000 is the Buy America Act in effect? Answer: Yes, all items have to also be Berry Amendment compliant. 3. Question: Does the potential supplier have to have all of the items listed in stock and on their shelves? Answer: The supplier (company(s)) must be capable of filling orders in a timely manner when submitted. Specific delivery timelines will be listed in the contract when/if awarded. 4. Question: What size are the longevity stripes? Answer: Rayon embroidered stripe, 3/16 of an inch wide and 1-5/16 of an inch in length with a 3/32 inch border around the stripe. 5. Question/Comment: The types of fabric blends for the shirts and pants would be important and would have an impact on pricing. Answer: We didn't specify a fabric blend as we are only gathering information at this point. If you have uniform items with different fabric blends, you may want to include information on the different types you provide so we can evaluate and compare comfort, fit, durability, price, etc. We would like to draw on your expertise. If you have data on different fabric blends and can include it with your response we would appreciate it. 6. Question: Would the shoulder patches be sewn on the shirts or provided separately? Answer: If/when a contract is awarded this information will be specific and included. 7. Question: The shade mentioned ( LAPD shade 51) is a shade we are not familiar with and we currently provide uniforms to the LAPD. Answer: Our information may be correct or incorrect. Please provide us with the information on the Dark Navy Blue color you are currently providing LAPD. 8. Question: If you would have any more information such as past history or past vendors it would help us to get you the correct information. Answer: We don't have any past history information. Currently installations who need these items are ordering them through various sources and getting them in various fabric blends and colors. We are looking to standardize these items Air Force wide. 9. Question: In regards to the purchase that may come out of this, would it be a large one time buy, or as needed over time? Answer: As needed over time. Estimated quantities for uniform items listed in the request for information are annual projections/estimates. Please provide any additional comments/questions to ronald.harlan@lackland.af.mil.
