Description
FedBizOpps notice Description: The US Army Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Center,Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 is conducting a Market Survey to locate potential sources to provide expertise on Direct View Optical Scopes for the M2 Cal..50 Browning Machine Gun (BMG), that will provide an increase in performance over the current iron sights for the weapon. The sight must be Non Developmental Item (NDI) or a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) item. Primary interest is in a sight designed for use with the M2 machine gun with no modification to the weapon or sight, however, information for products that require minimal modification or that is not direct view optical scopes may also be provided. The target range of interest for personnel targets is out to 1200 meters and 2000 meters for area targets. Other technical information of interest includes:1.Reticle type2.Optical Magnification 3.MIL-STD-810F compliance4.MIL-STD-1913 compatible5.Size, Weight and Power6.Adjustable reticle/aiming dot brightness (Night Vision-compatible)7.Parallax-compensation8.Field of view9.Resolution10. Digital Magnification Firms/companies are invited to indicate their capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and other technical data as well as identification of current customers and rough indication of pricing for a single system. Any pricing data should be sent, if available and at no cost to the US Government.. Interested companies are requested to submit a capabilities statement of 2-5 pages via e-mail by 23 January 2009. Interested firms should also provide their address, point-of-contact with telephone number and e-mail address, and size of business (small/large). This is a market survey for information only and shall not be construed as a request for a proposal or as an obligation on the part of the US Government. The US Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
