Description

Equipment List The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Gilson, Inc., 300 Parmenter Street, Middleton, WI 53562 for a Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) System and accessories (See attached Equipment List). This GPC System Pt. #21110000, MdL: GX-271 Cleanup w/UV DET and accessories (See attached equipment list) is a unique SPE, LLE, GPC systems that has the capability to increase our current capacity to assess human exposure to PAHs by almost a factor of three. The GPC system provides a method that allows for the analyst to quickly set up a method for accurately extract our compounds of interest while also removing matrix interferences. the Gilson Automated GX-271 GPC system provides a high throughput of samples by allowing analysis of up to 80 samples during any given run, which will be then later run on a mass spectrometer that allows for analysis of hard to detect PAHs, such as benzo(a)pyrene (BaP) metabolites that are adducted to human hemoglobin and serum albumin molecules. CDC anticipates soliciting and awarding a purchase order only one known source, Gilson, Inc.. The statutory authority permitting other-than-full-and-open competition is 41 U.S.C., 253(c)(1): FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing to Mr. Richard Jenkins, via email ONLY at rbj3@cdc.gov with reference number (2010-Q-11933) referenced in the subject line, no later then 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, January 21, 2010. SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE SOLICITATION; A SEPERATE WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED. Delivery Due Date: On or before February 22, 2010; FOB: Destination.
