Description
THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE USEPA CONTRACTOR UNDER CONTRACT EP-W-07-104. REQUESTS AND/OR INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ADDRESSED. IT IS THE INTENT OF THE USEPA TO APPROVE A WORK ASSIGNMENT UNDER THIS EXISTING CONTRACT. The purpose of this announcement is to obligate a total of $131,243 for the Silas Hoyungowa (HOPI026) LUST Site Work Assignment Amendment. This work will require the contractor to conduct site assessments and site characterizations, and perform corrective action for potential leaking underground storage tank (LUST) sites in EPA Region 9. The contractor will evaluate soil remediation alternatives based on existing site data. The contractor will provide recommendations to the EPA Work Assignment Manager (WAM) on the options to address the soil contamination at the site. If site conditions require a pilot study to evaluate potential cleanup options, the contractor will make a recommendation to the EPA WAM. The EPA WAM will determine if the pilot study is needed. If required, the contractor will initiate the pilot study and perform additional sampling activities if needed. The contractor will transport all investigated-derived waste (IDW) materials and associated items from off the site to an approved offsite facility. The contractor will subcontract out the containerization, transport, and disposal of all IDW. The contractor will prepare manifests or associated forms. The contractor will develop a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) based on the findings of the site conditions and/or the results of the pilot study. The contractor will submit the CAP to the EPA WAM for review and comment and approval. The contractor will also submit the CAP to the appropriate Tribal contact. If appropriate, and up the EPA WAM's determination, the contractor will notify the public of the CAP activities, via a fact sheet and local newspaper announcement. The contractor will provide recommendations to the EPA WAM for responding to the public's comments, if necessary.
