Description
RECOVERY ACT - In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Pub.Law. 111-5, The Department of Veterans Affairs at the VA Medical Center, 2501 W 22nd Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57105 is seeking contractors to submit proposals for the "Elevator Controls Upgrade", Building 5 Elevators 1, 2, 3, and 6. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The VA is seeking a Contractor to provide all material, labor, equipment, supervision, and tools necessary to perform the following work IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROJECT PLANS AND SPECIFICATION : (EXAMPLES OF THE EXTENT OF THE WORK MAY INCLUDE): Provide a code approved machine room, air conditioning system for the machine room, new hoist machines, AC motors, hoist ropes, deflector sheaves, governors, governor ropes, tail sheaves, ascending overspeed protection devices, microprocessor controllers, piping, wireway, machine room wiring, shunt trip breakers, safeties, operating panels, digital car position indicators, audio voice systems, LED illuminated light fixtures, drop ceiling frames, ceiling panels, interior cab wall panels, floor covering, door operators, stainless steel car doors, tracks, hangers, rollers, gibs, restrictors, drive arms, clutch assemblies, cartop control stations, leveling units, exhaust fans, emergency exit switches, cartop guard rails, lights, GFI outlets, hall push buttons fixtures, hoistway access key switches, digital hall lantern/position indicators, stainless steel hoistway doors, tracks, hangers, rollers, gibs, drive roller assemblies, door locks, closers, oil buffers for cars and counterweights, normal and terminal limit switches, traveling cables, hoistway piping, wireway, wiring, lights, stop switches, grab bars, power operated hoistway venting, remove all unused conduit from the machine room and hoistway, patch all holes with approved fire proofing material, refinish reused stainless steel car panels, paint cab ceilings, bolt side exits closed, remove safety switches, refinish stainless steel entrance frames, and relocate pit ladders. This procurement is 100% set-aside for SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB). Prospective contractors must be registered and BE current in the following websites: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov;, http://www.ccr.gov;, and https://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. Technical and Cost Proposals will be accepted from only responsible and responsive contractors The firm must be a General Construction firm approved under NAICS code 236220-size standard is $33.5 million. The Government contemplates award of a Firm Fixed Price contract resulting from this solicitation. Bid Bond will be required in the amount of 20% of bid, and Performance and Payment bonds will be required upon award of contract. The estimated dollar value of this procurement is between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00 Specifications and drawings will be uploaded on or about January 22, 2010.
