Description

The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Alaska Volcano Observatory has a requirement for six hundred (600) (each) Batteries, Primary, 3 VDC, Dry Cell, High-Capacity. The minimum required specifications for the batteries are as follows: Nominal 3V output; High capacity primary cell with greater than or equal to 1200Ah capacity; Capable of producing a minimum of 400 mA of continuous average current; Approximate dimensions 9"x5"x9" (LWH); Weight not to exceed 20 lbs.; Performance temperature range (-20F to 100F); Dry-cell electrolyte; Must NOT contain Mercury; Must NOT contain Cadmium. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract. The required delivery dates are anticipated to be as follows: Anchorage, Alaska Shipment 1: Quantity 300 on or about 01 March 2010; Anchorage, Alaska Shipment 2: Quantity 225 on or about 01 March 2011; Saipan of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Marian Islands Shipment: 45 Quantity on or about 01 November 2010. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on the internet on or about 26 January 2010. A formal solicitation is not available for release at this time. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 335911 and the size standard is 500 employees. The U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Government Contracting, Nonmanufacturer Rule Class Waiver, effective 08 October 2009, has waived the Nonmanufacturer Rule for NAICS code 335911. Accordingly, this requirement will be set aside for small businesses. There is no incumbent contractor. Full funding for requirements to be completed by resultant contract award(s) may utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements by the successful offeror(s), will be required in any resultant contract.
