Description
Mod. to change wording from an obstetricians to: one obstetrician Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and technical capability of qualified small businesses, including 8(a) small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, woman-owned small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses or HUBZone small businesses capable of providing the following service: The NICHD has identified that it requires the support of one obstetrician for Maternal-Fetal Medicine services with an expertise in the conduction of systematic reviews and meta-analyses (educational and research) to analyze and summarize the existing literature. The purpose of such systematic reviews is to identify questions and efficiently and rigorously summarize the available evidence in subjects related to the research agenda of the Branch. Examples of subjects include (but not limited to) the following:1)Maternal inflammation in the etiology and pathogenesis of preeclampsia: a systematic review 2)Relationship between fetal malformations and the risk of preeclampsia: a systematic review and meta-analysis. 3)Amniotic fluid embolism: an evidence-based review.4)Combined use of cervicovaginal fetal fibronectin and cervical length measurement to predict spontaneous preterm delivery in women with preterm labor: a systematic review5)The role of asymmetric dimethylarginine in the etiology and pathogenesis of preeclampsia: a systematic review. 6)Risk of preeclampsia in women living at high altitude: a systematic review7)Effect of climatic and meteorological factors on risk of preeclampsia: a systematic review Example of needed (but not limited to) educational services:1.Participate in videoconference and teleconferences periodically, to ensure progress with the projects2.Visit the NICHD (site-visit location is Wayne State University in Detroit, MI) four times a year, and spend ten days to conduct work related to the systematic reviews and meta-analyses, participate in conferences, research rounds, and other activities related to this contract. Interested firms with the capability of providing the required service are requested to submit a capability statement to assist the Government in determining in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 19.502-2(b) whether or not this procurement will be set-aside for any of the programs described above. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code 541990 with a size standard of $6.5M. All respondents are requested to identify their firms size and type of business. Interested firms responding to this market survey must provide (a) capability statement demonstrating their experience, skills and capability to fulfill the Governments requirements for the above. The capability statement shall be in sufficient enough detail, but not to exceed 15 pages, so that the Government can determine the experience and capability of your firm to provide the requirements above. Your capability statement should include references. Two (2) copies of the capability statement must be received at the address identified in this synopsis prior to 3:00 p.m. local time at designated location on January 20, 2010. Responses by fax or e-mail WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for information solicited.
