- Description
- The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Alaska Volcano Observatory, has a requirement for 520 (each) Batteries, 12 VDC, Lead/Acid, AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat). The minimum required specifications for the batteries are as follows: Nominal 12V output; Deep cycle; AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat); Approximate dimensions 12"x6.5"x9" (LWH); Capacity > 100Ah at 100 hour rate; M8 style, threaded insert terminals with associated bolts, nuts and washers; Shipping weight not to exceed 70 lbs.; Demonstrated high performance at low temperature range (-20F to 0F); Demonstrated high performance at high temperature (80F to 100F); Rechargeable and suitable for use in solar and wind power systems; Sealed. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract using the procedures of FAR 13.5 (Test Program) and the procedures of FAR Part 12, entitled, "Acquisition of Commercial Items." The required delivery date is anticipated to be as follows: Anchorage, Alaska Shipment 1: Quantity 300 on or about 01 March 2010; Anchorage, Alaska Shipment 2: Quantity 225 on or about 01 March 2011; Saipan of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Marian Islands Shipment: 45 Quantity on or about 01 November 2010. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on the internet on or about 29 January 2010. A formal solicitation is not available for release at this time. This requirement is set-aside for small businesses. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 335911 and the size standard is 500 employees. There is no incumbent contractor. Full funding for requirements to be completed by resultant contract award(s) may utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements by the successful offeror(s), will be required in any resultant contract.
