- The United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for the Drydock and Repair of the USCG ANB PANAMA CITY CG55117, a 55’ Aids to Navigation Boat. The acquisition will be set-aside for Small Businesses. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about 25 January 2010. This Requirement will be evaluated using past performance as an evaluation factor. All work will be performed at the contractor’s facility. The performance period will be eighty two (82) calendar days with a start date on 01 April 2010. Restriction: The vessel is restricted to an area no greater than 200 nautical miles from the ANB’s home station, on navigable waterways and no more than 20 nautical miles off shore. Home Station: Coast Guard Station Panama City, 1700 Thomas Dr., Panama City, FL 32408. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at https://fbo.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for the RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS contains an option for automatic notification service. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via Fed-X, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail to genie.s.williams@uscg.mil. The scope of work for this acquisition is but not limited to: Welding Repairs (Aluminum), Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) Shot Inspection; Air Test Voids; Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rub Rail System and Transom Fenders; Renew Shear Bar Rail Section; Realign Main Engine/Reduction Gear to Shaft; Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shafts; Renew Stern Tube; Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propellers; Overhaul and Renew Sea Valves; Inspect and Overhaul Duplex Sea Strainers; Renew Fuel Valves; Clean and Inspect Exhaust Piping Systems; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudders; Preserve and Disinfect Potable Water Tanks – 100%; Clean and Inspect Grey Water Holding and Sewage Tank; Clean and Inspect Fuel Service Tanks; Renew Strut and Stern Tube Bearings; Routine Drydocking; Preserve Underwater Body – 100%; Preserve Freeboard – 100%; Preserve Superstructure; Preserve Weather Decks and Replace Fwd Searchlight (EC-55ANB-C-51). Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing.
