Description
The United States Marine Corps PM Tanks is investigating placing a ruggedized compact display on the M1A1 Main Battle Tank for use by the Tank Commander (TC) when he is outside the hatch. The ruggized display will enable the TC to view RS 170 video feeds (50 Cal Thermal Sight/Day TV, 2nd Generation thermal receiver unit, Improved Loader's Weapon Station, Rear View Sensor System) and RS422 information from the Defense Advanced Global Positioning System Receiver (DAGR) and/or Blue Force Tracker (BFT). Responses to this request should be for an Off the Shelf solution. It is important to note to any prospective vendor that the USMC is not interested in any development of the ruggized compact display. The USMC interest extends to the mounting/integration of the ruggized display on and into the M1A1. The ruggized display should have the following capabilities: a. Resolution at least 640 x 480 (VGA). b. Sunlight readable. c. 5.5 to 7.0 inch diagonal LCD display. d. Be able to receive at least three video feeds and display allow the TC to select between the three video feeds. e. Be able to accept one RS422 input and display the information. f. Operate from vehicle power of 18 to 30 volts DC. g. Withstand the tactical environments of the M1A1 tank. All vendors having the capability of meeting these requirements are requested to submit copies of relevant documentation to include a rough order of magnitude (ROM), the offeror's size standard, and availability of materials and risk associated with the possible procurement in response to this Request for Information at no cost to the Government. Written responses should be submitted no later than close of business 22 March 2010. Firms should also include literature, brochures, and capabilities summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned needs. The submission of the product information should not be construed as a commitment to procure equipment. The Government will not pay for any information submitted. No telephonic responses will be accepted. Reponses should be submitted to the contact person listed above at Commander, Marine Corps Systems Command, ATTN: STASIA BAKER CTQ 026, 2200 Lester Street, Quantico, VA 22134 or at stasia.baker@usmc.mil. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS/SERVICES, NOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED.
