Description
This is a Sources Sought Announcement only. The VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System has a need to hire an Architect firm for the design effort shall primarily consist of preparing complete construction documents to accomplish a seismic upgrade of Building 1A in accordance with VA seismic criteria as listed in VA Document H-18-8, Seismic Design Handbook. Secondary design efforts shall include: a) upgrading a recently installed HVAC system to meet VA criteria, b) replace the control system in the building with a system which will integrate with the existing facility Metasys control system, c) replace all existing windows with new double pane energy efficient windows, d) provide a handicap ramp to the main building entrance (west face), ande) realign interior partitions in selected areas to meet projected future uses of this building. The design shall correct existing code deficiencies associated with plumbing, electrical, life safety and telecom systems but complete overhaul of these systems is not to be included as part of the design. If such systems are determined, during the course of design, to be deteriorated to such a point that their future use is questionable, replacement of these systems is to be included in the design of the construction documents.
