- Contracting Office Address Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, Office of Acquisitions, 6120 Executive Boulevard, EPS Suite 600, Room 6068, Rockville, MD 20852, UNITED STATES. The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Research (CCR), Laboratory of Cancer Biology and Genetics (LCBG), plans a service agreement/maintenance service for four (4) Government-owned Becton Dickinson instruments: one (1) FACSARIA Special (No Lasers) S/N P46900083; one (1) Sapphire 488-100 Blue laser 640100; one (1) Coherent Cube 640-40 Red Laser 337691; and one (1) Laser Genesis 355-60 UV. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). The North American Industry Classification System Code is 811219 and the business size standard is $7.0 million. The period of performance shall be for twelve (12) months from the date of award. The Laboratory of Cancer Biology and Genetics (LCBG) conducts an integrated research program designed to elucidate the cellular and tissue changes associated with specific stages of carcinogenesis, to detect genetic modifiers fundamental to cancer susceptibility and progression, to define the molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of major human cancers, and to develop rational approaches for cancer prevention and treatment. The FACS Core 37 Facility supports the CCR scientific research community by providing instrumentation and expertise to perform state-of-the art cell sorting. The laboratory currently houses a special order research FACSAria cell sorter. This instrument is in daily use; the lab serves over two hundred (200) scientists every year. The Contractor shall provide two (2) semi-annual preventive maintenance inspections on each of the four (4) pieces of equipment during the contract period. Personnel shall be trained in the servicing of the equipment as covered by this contract. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. In order to receive an award, contractors must be registered and have valid certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Applications (ORCA).
