- The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to search for qualified vendors capable of meeting the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) requirement to provide access to the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician Master File Software. The Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), Compensation and Pension (C&P) Service are licensed for the AMA Physician Master File software, which is installed on the VBA Corporate Enterprise System (Sun E10K) at the Austin Automation Center. The AMA Physician Master File database supports the VBA nationwide C&P Service for veterans' claims benefits adjudication to assist in eligibility determinations. The AMA database search feature is incorporated within the Modern Awards Processing-Development (MAP-D) application, which is a component of VETSNET. Each user of MAP-D (claims developer) has the ability ("license") to use the AMA database search. This service assists the VBA claims examiners at the nationwide regional offices who process veterans' claims for compensation and pension assistance in disability and compensation eligibility. The purpose of the contract is to provide continued access of the AMA credentialing products.This market research is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Any contract that might be awarded based on information received or derived from this market research will be the outcome of the competitive process. Responses are requested no later than close of business on February 5, 2010.
