- Description
- This solicitation is to procure services to dry-dock a river towboat and repair a floating crane. The work will consist of dry-docking the M/V Lawson river towboat and floating crane Choctawhatchee and performing necessary repairs and other work delineated in the Technical Specifications. The contractor will furnish all labor and material, fittings, tools, power, lubricants, fuel, water, etc., to accomplish the work. The Lawson is a river towboat built in 2007 by Quality Shipyards, Houma, LA. General characteristics are length - 96, beam - 40, molded depth, amidships - 8-3, displacement - 388 long tons. The Choctawhatchee is floating crane with a King post mounted SeaTrax SeaKing 7200-DR type crane. She was built in 2003 by Bender Shipyards, Mobile, AL. General characteristics are length - 165, beam - 50,molded depth amidships - 11-6, and displacement 1,221 long tons. The Government will deliver the plant without cost to the successful bidder within 50 miles of Mobile, AL. Delivery outside this area will incur a charge of $91.70 per statute mile for distances greater than 50 miles from Mobile, AL, in the delivery and return of the plant. All work must be completed no later than 30 calendar days after the barges arrive at the contractors facility. This solicitation is American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funded. It is anticipated that a fixed Price contract will be awarded. This procurement is a set aside for small business under NAICS 336611. The solicitation will only be issued as a direct download at the following website Https://www.fbo.gov on or about 27 January 2010. All prospective contractors, subcontractors and suppliers must be registered in Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) before they will be allowed to download solicitation information. The solicitation will not be provided in a printed paper format. Therefore, it is the bidders responsibility to check the website for solicitation posting and any changes to the solicitation.
