Description
This information is for Request for Quotation (RFQ) SPM1C1-10-Q-0197. The item is Stripe, Trousers, Dress, Scarlet, Marine Corps, Shade 2501. The applicable NSN for this procurement is 8455-00-269-0488. The military specification is MIL-S-82155B (MC) dated 28 March 1991. The purchase quantity is 78,000. The first delivery order is due 60 days after the date of award. The destination for this item is to a Travis association For The Blind, Austin, TX. The RFQ will be issued as a Total Small Business Set-Aside that will result in a firm fixed price contract. All materials used in the fabrication of the end item are to be furnished by the contractor with exception of the basic fabric (Broadcloth, Wool, 56 Inch Width, Type I, Scarlet Maine Corps, Shade 2501, Mothproofed, Unsponged), which will be provided as GFM. This cloth's NSN is 8305-01-209-6542. The storage facility for the cloth is in a Peckham Industries depot in Lansing, MI. The Government does not intend to use FAR part 12 for this acquisition. Reference Numbered Notes 1, 9, and 26. The Defense appropriations and authorization acts and other statutes (including what is commonly referred to as "The Berry Amendment") impose restrictions on the DoD's acquisition of foreign products and services. Generally, Clothing and Textile items (as defined in DFARS clause 252.225-7012) and "specialty metals" (as defined in DFARS clause 252.225-7014), including the materials and components thereof (other than sensors, electronics, or other items added to, and not normally associated with clothing), must be grown, reprocessed, reused, melted or produced in the United States, its possessions or Puerto Rico, unless one of the DFARS 225.7002-2 exceptions applies. RFQ WILL NOT be available via the DLA DIBBS Home Page.
