- Description
- The Department of State's Bureau of Public Affairs, The Office of the Historian (PA/HO) houses a large amount of paper-based historical documentation which includes; hard and soft cover books, loose-leaf paper-based studies, magazines, reports (including graphs, maps, and images), bound phone books, card catalogues, short pamphlets, and microfiche. The Office of the Historian requires the services of a contractor for the digitization and XML conversion of paper-based documentation according to the industry standard Text Encoding Initiative (Text Encoding Initiative, see http://www.tei-c.org/Guidelines/P5/). Our office anticipates awarding one firm-fixed price indefinite quantity contract for a base period of 1 year and four 1 year options. All interested parties should review the attachments and submit questions by January 19, 2010, 12:00 pm EST. All technical and cost proposals should be submitted by February 10, 2010, 12:00 pm EST (**This date has been changed due to the impending snow storm that will effect the Washington, DC metropolitan area**).
