Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Augusta GA contemplates negotiation of a sole source procurement with the University of Illinois, Department of Bioengineering, 506 S. Wright St, Urbana IL 61820. The University of Illinois will serve as a secondary study site to provide custom built stimulation units for delivering electrical stimulation and providing data analysis for transcorneal electrical stimulation for the treatment of retinal disease. The performance period will be March 1, 2010 through February 28, 2011. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541720 with a standard size of $7.0 million. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within 3 days after publication of this synopsis. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting literature detailing how their product/services meet VA requirements to the contract specialist or by fax at 478-274-5588. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based on responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government.
