- Location photo #2 Location photo, #1 The Forest Service is requesting quotes for a fully integrated free standing and/or wall mounted touch screen (including installation) kiosk. The kiosk is intended to provide visitors with information regarding forest recreation opportunities, ability to reserve/purchase permits, print local forest maps, and provide general local information. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.603, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This notice incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 205-38 effective 10 December 209. The complete text of any of the clauses and provisions are available electronically from the following site: http://fsweb.wo.fs.fed.us/aqm/, regulations. This is a Request for Quote (RFQ) and the solicitation number is AG-8371-C-10-0012. This solicitation is issued as a small business set-aside. The associated NAICS code is 115310 and the associated size standard is $7,000,000.00. Location The kiosk will be located at the Forest Service/BLM Field Office located at: 3801 Pegasus Drive, Bakersfield, CA. 93308 The kiosk will be placed on the outside of the building which is fully covered. Kiosk will be either freestanding or mounted on the building wall. Quotes for both are requested. Kiosk will not be exposed to direct sunlight or precipitation but, temperature fluctuation will require a heating and cooling system. •Average temperatures for Bakersfield, CA. 35 – 97 degrees with occasional below freezing temperatures in the winter months and occasional 100+ degrees during the summer months. Work Schedule April 12, 2009 through June 30, 2010 **This kiosk shall be in place by Memorial Day weekend. Government Furnished Items: 1.Forest Service and BLM visitor information content. 2.Technical assistance with software. 3.Internet access 4.Access to a telephone, photocopier, fax, and general office supplies as needed while on location. Contractor shall provide the following: 1.46” LCD Screen with display of at least 700 nits brightness for outdoor viewing, polarizing/privacy filter for ease in viewing 2.Touch Screen Assembly - functionality of the unit will allow users to select options and navigate through information by touching the viewing screen. The assembly shall include tangential fans for cooling the front section of the LD screen. 3.Industrial Rate, Low Power Computer with minimum memory and capabilities equivalent to 2 GHz dual core processor, 2 GIG of RAM and Windows XP Pro. 4.Thermal Color Printer capable of producing full size printing on standard 8 ½ by 11 inch paper. 5.Power Protection from voltage variations, transients and harmonics 6.Speakers with amplified dual-speaker sound system 7.Free Standing Kiosk Stand and Enclosure offering support and protection, both from the weather and from vandalism, for the computer unit, facilitating visitor use and appropriately and attractively displaying the unit. NEMA3R rated 8.Wall Mounted Kiosk/Enclosed offering support and protection, both from the weather and from vandalism, for the computer unit, facilitating visitor use and appropriately and attractively displaying the unit. NEMA3R rated 9.Software Customer graphics & display templates, custom main menu, templates & style sheets; custom interface links; user friendly selections with direct links to selected pages on Client-specified internet and/or intranet pages; content coordination; obtain graphic artwork and image files; advise client on requirements for Client-supplied content; review and submit content display proofs. •Remote Management of the screen content allowing updates to information from multiple remote locations •Reporting functionality – capture of user data reporting what screens are being accessed by users and what information has been printed •Remote monitoring – a notification system that can e-mail an alert when a unit is down or the temperature in the enclosure is getting high. •Interface with US Forest/BLM web site to process transactions for campsites/cabins. •Available technical support beyond the initial set-up and installation 10.Installation Includes travel related expenses & services to unpack & position the kiosk, connect all cables, validate unit is operational, diagnostic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, plus professional instruction on the day-to-day upkeep and operation of the kiosk, including how to clean the touch screen, how to change the printer paper and maintain printer, how to retrieve usage statistics data, how to submit content change requests; any number of customer personnel can be trained. 11.Warranty and Service Options Includes any combination of professional services during warranty period, including but not limited to: making changes to main menu, templates and/or style sheets as requested; creating new screen savers, graphics, maps, html display pages, etc.; adding new links/buttons to provide access to new videos and/or other display content; adding new internet and/or intranet links/buttons, integrate into display content; preparing customized kiosk usage statistics reports or customer survey response reports. 12.Services and Support Package Two year On-site service and support package Additional Specifications I. Travel between work locations: The contractor agrees to be responsible for making all travel arrangements to and from Bakersfield, CA. and will notify COR 2 weeks prior to actual installation date. The contractor is responsible for the shipping and transportation of kiosk and any damages that might be incurred during transportation.
